5.2.1  Damage minimisation

If an artefact is discovered at the site, the private party must notify government23 and, at its own cost and expense, prevent the artefact from being removed, disturbed, damaged or destroyed as required by the relevant legislation until appropriate arrangements (including the obtaining of approvals) have been made for dealing with, or removing, them.
